The Whole Easter Story: Why the cross is good news for all creation

Dive into this 40-day Lent devotional to explore how the cross transforms not only our own individual connection with Jesus, but also our relationships with each other and our world. Explore the profound meaning of Easter beyond personal spirituality. There is no doubt that each of us has a place in the Easter story, but what happened on the cross is not just a story of me and Jesus. It is far deeper and wider than that.

Written by Jo Swinney of A Rocha International, Jo explores the broader impact of the Easter story on God’s relationship with creation. Through Bible readings, reflections and stories from A Rocha’s global conservation efforts, discover how the cross transforms not just our own individual connection with Jesus, but also our relationships with each other and our world.

Pentecost: God’s Spirit in Creation - A Pentecost worship resource

With thanks to Lois Baldwin who created this resource for the Eco Church project.

This resource endeavours to offer a collection of reflective prayers, poems, and other material to engage with Pentecost through a creation care lens. Pentecost celebrates the day that te Wairua Tapu, the Holy Spirit, came like fire on the believers. This resource invites us to explore the Spirit in light of our experience of the created world.

The resource is organised in the classic order of worship flow, starting with a call to worship and finishing with a benediction. Yet its use is not limited to this format. We suggest prayerfully exploring the overview document. Choose any of the prayers, poems, scripture, or songs that are appropriate to your people and context and integrate them into your gatherings on Pentecost Sunday.

There are accompanying slides for some sections below to make it easy to incorporate into your gathering.
